We are throwing a big surprise party for my aunt next weekend (I'm not worried about spoiling it for her, she doesn't know what a blog is) and my mom and I are making dinner for the family afterwards. In order to simplify the task at hand, we are each making a dish beforehand that just needs to be reheated. She has decided to make a big batch of boeuf bourguignon and I am trying out a new recipe from Martha for coq au vin. I guess that we both had hearty French cuisine on the brain that day...
